German settlers were invited in to what was then the eastern marches of the Kingdom of Hungary starting in the 13th century.

The larger settlements like Sighisoara and Brasov fortified the towns with wall and towers…

Back to Budapest

It turns out fastest way to Budapest was to actually go to Vienna. Additionally confusing is that although the Vienna Airport is in the direction of Budapest, you still have to come into the city center and get back out.
