Kazakhstan is supposed to be where apples are from, and Almaty is in the home of the wild apple Malus sieversii, so you can expect to find a lot of trees.

I’ve been researching this country and it looks awesome & your photos confirm that fact. I hadn’t heard about the apple origin. Quite interesting. Eleanor
