Between the lagoon and the sea
The Curonian Spit is a sand spit between the freshwater Curonian Lagoon and the saltwater Baltic Sea.
To get there, first we put the whole damn bus on the ferry.
A castle (not) by the sea
The story goes that the second wife of Duke Kęstutis, Birutė came from the Curonian coast and therefore did not want to live in Vilnius which was far from the sea. To make up for it, the Duke built the island castle at Trakai.
